By “distressed” we mean the manufacturer has added any of the following such as false woodworm, scratches, marks and even dents. This is commonly only used on top quality pieces because it takes a lot of work and skill to keep within the fine line of the piece looking rustic and aged which is the aim or actually just damaged.
