About the Settle
This is a fantastic example of the quality French solid oak furniture we regularly look for. This settle was manufactured by a renowned French furniture maker known for producing some of the finest quality furniture available.
This would be particularly useful in a hallway, entrance or boot room, providing somewhere comfortable to sit while putting on or taking off shoes and boots. Lift the seat and the exceptionally spacious box underneath gives you loads of room to keep shoes, boots, bags and other everyday items neatly hidden away.
It would work equally well in a living room or family space, where the storage compartment could be used for blankets, cushions, toys or other household items, while providing useful additional seating for two people.
The traditional French distressing adds simulated woodworm, scratches, marks and dents to deliberately create an aged appearance, giving the solid oak much more character than a conventional modern finish.
With its completely solid oak construction, substantial hidden storage and traditional craftsmanship, this is the type of furniture that can be very expensive to replicate at a comparable quality today.

Like all of our restored furniture, using our 40+ years’ experience in restoration this settle has been professionally restored by us to bring it back to a condition we’re proud to sell.
This particular settle has had its old finish carefully removed by hand before being professionally refinished with a Honey Briwax; bringing out the beautiful natural grain and character of the wood.
